Linguix Just Got Better: Recent Updates

Linguix - Search & Translate

We’ve shipped a set of updates to make Linguix more reliable and easier to use. Here’s what’s new in version 1.3.0

Search and filtering

  • Resource-aware search – When you switch between Products, Collections, Pages, Articles, and Blogs, the “Select Field to Translate” dropdown shows only the relevant fields for that resource type.
  • Metafield discovery – The field dropdown automatically includes your product and variant metafields, so you can translate custom data without extra setup.
  • Cleaner results – Items with no value for the selected field are hidden, so you only see what can actually be translated.
  • Numeric metafields – Numeric metafields (numbers, decimals) are excluded from the translatable field list so the dropdown focuses on text-based content.

Translation fixes

  • Collection descriptions – We fixed how collection descriptions are sent to Shopify’s API. HTML descriptions now translate and save correctly.
  • SEO fields – Meta titles and descriptions for Collections, Products, Articles, and Blogs are now correctly mapped to Shopify’s meta_title and meta_description translatable keys.
  • Article search – Searching for blog posts no longer fails. We removed references to a non-existent field in the Article API.

UX improvements

  • Show details – The “Show details” button in the items list works again. Click it to see the selected field’s content in an expandable row.
  • Focused details view – When a field is selected, the details row shows only that field’s text, instead of every field.
  • Navigation – The back button on the translate page keeps you inside the app instead of redirecting to login.
  • Copy updates – The home page features section and settings labels are updated to better match the current functionality.
